In this job you will handle daily operations and programming tasks associated with creating and delivering public programming throughout the park and the African American Cultural Center while working on a variety of projects from educational programming, historic research, event management, and more.
Primary duties include staffing the park and center, interpretive programming for the public and school groups, assistance with exhibit development, event management, retail operation and cash handling, and other duties as assigned. Weekend and evening work is required. Approximately 20 hours per week.
High School Diploma. A valid NC Driver’s License and a safe driving record required. Effective oral and written communication required. A BA in public history, African American history, or related museum experience preferred. A working knowledge of historic time periods and historic structures as well as resource management concepts.
