Electrical Hardware Engineer IV Salary: $120,000 – $170,000 (Based on Experience) Location: Prefer Local Candidates — Hybrid/Onsite or Remote for the Right Candidate About the Role We’re seeking a hands-on Electrical Hardware Engineer IV to help design and develop next-generation handheld network testing products for our client. This role is perfect for an experienced engineer who enjoys tackling complex challenges, working across disciplines, and driving projects from concept through production. You’ll lead the development of embedded hardware systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure reliable, high-performance solutions that power advanced networking tools used worldwide. What You’ll Do Design & Develop complex electronic systems including circuit boards, processors, memory subsystems, LCDs, touchscreens, and high-speed interfaces using Cadence Allegro tools. Build & Optimize analog circuits for rechargeable batteries, low-voltage power supplies, USB Power Delivery, and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) systems. Document & Manage schematics, design specifications, BOMs, and technical drawings through the PLM system. Collaborate closely with software and mechanical engineers during board bring-up and integration. Support manufacturing teams with PCB/A fabrication, assembly, and validation testing. Redesign & Improve existing hardware platforms, addressing end-of-life components and performance enhancements. Test & Validate designs for EMI/ESD compliance and implement mitigation strategies to meet global standards. Source & Qualify components and vendors while ensuring cost-effective, high-quality design control. What You’ll Bring Proven PCB/A design experience with high-speed networking interfaces and embedded CPU subsystems. Expertise in Cadence Allegro schematic capture and PCB layout. Strong understanding of DDR2/DDR3 memory, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, and XFI buses. Skilled in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers for validation and troubleshooting. Knowledge of EMI/ESD standards, compliance testing, and mitigation practices. Preferred Experience FPGA/VHDL design (Altera or Xilinx). Familiarity with power delivery and thermal simulation tools. Background in telecommunications or network equipment development. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in hardware design and development.
