The Opportunity As a Staff Structural – Transmission Line Engineer you will support design engineering and analysis on transmission scopes, including large 345 kV+ rebuild and greenfield projects, and trending technologies like HVDC and 765 kV. You will collect and assimilate data, perform research and prepare calculations in accordance with company and industry standards, develop recommendations for equipment and materials, and manage engineering work within budget, schedule, and quality requirements while maintaining positive client relations.
Key Responsibilities
Apply engineering standards, codes, and Black & Veatch policies to assigned tasks.
Prepare complex engineering deliverables, calculations, and recommendations.
Manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
Lead or review lower‑level engineering work and oversee data collection and assimilation.
Coordinate with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects.
Maintain client focus by identifying key client interests and communicating them to the project team.
Support continuous improvement, change management, and quality program compliance.
Assist with business development and technology innovation as a technical specialist.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong proficiency in PLS CADD.
Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides.
Experience with the design of utility‑scale electrical transmission systems.
Structural design of transmission steel structures and foundations.
Basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3‑D analysis and design software.
Strong written and verbal communication, delegation, conflict management, and team‑building skills.
Client interaction experience with solid relationship‑building abilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
Minimum five years of related work experience.
Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background checks, drug screening, etc.).
Certifications Professional registration or licensure in the designated home office country, or active pursuit of such registration, is typically required.

Annual compensation range: $114,933.00 – $219,360.00.
