Essential Functions
Provides academic, personal, financial, and career counseling to students and makes referrals as needed to support and facilitate retention.
Assesses student skills and goals, and encourages their participation in academic support activities.
Maintains appropriate records on student academic progress and financial aid.
Monitors students’ academic performance and progress through review of tutor contacts, midterm, and final grades.
Assists students with the financial aid renewal process.
Participates in the recruitment process and discusses HEOP with prospective students and their families.
Teaches and assists in planning the HEOP Summer Program, which is mandatory for all incoming first‑year program students.
Communicates and collaborates with other program staff for the effective delivery of academic support services to program students.
Maintains student data and assists in preparing reports for the New York State Education Department and Fordham University.
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 0–2 years of working with undergraduate students and/or disadvantaged populations.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
Familiarity with best practices in academic advising and in working with a varied, diverse population of students.
Proficiency in various software tools.
Proven communication skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, organize, prioritize, and work collaboratively.
Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office suites.
Preferred Qualifications

Compensation Minimum Starting Salary:
$70,000

$73,000
