Sr. Human Resources Business Partner
Boston Medical Center (BMC) As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner at BMC, you will provide strategic HR consulting and operational support to a designated business unit, aligning human resources functions with organizational goals and ensuring compliance with employment law. Essential Responsibilities / Duties Provide overall strategic direction and long?term planning to support the medical centers objectives, incorporating BMCs Mission, Vision and RESPECT attributes. Partner with business unit management to coach and consult on leadership, organizational development, change management and employee engagement. Develop and implement value?added HR strategies to enhance the business, including staffing, compensation, benefits, training and employee relations. Serve as an employee?relations consultant, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment law, coaching managers, investigating issues, and recommending appropriate action. Collaborate with Staffing and managers to acquire and retain the right talent for the business unit(s). Align HR policies and strategy with organizational objectives, promoting consistency and best practices companywide. Partner with Organizational Development to design career?development tools and strategies. Liaise with internal HR functions regarding organizational design, staffing, compensation, benefits, training and employee relations. Lead restructuring, reorganizations and performance?management initiatives to strengthen the business. Manage delivery of company?wide programs such as merit review and bonus cycles.
Other Duties
Maintain industry knowledge of HR partnership strategy, especially in healthcare. Participate in hospital committees or meetings as requested. Adhere to hospital standards of performance and conduct, patient rights, and safety procedures. Apply hospital core values and RESPECT attributes in decision?making. Other duties as required.
Education
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
Certifications
SPHR certification a plus. Experience
At least seven years of related experience. Experience working with organizational development in a large organization and/or functional business unit. Hospital setting experience is a plus. Experience with represented populations and multiple bargaining agreements mandatory.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of employment laws, labor relations and HR functional areas. Strong organizational, project?management and change?management skills. Ability to influence all levels of management and communicate effectively with diverse populations. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook) and data analysis tools. Strong presentation skills and ability to resolve conflict and develop practical solutions.
