Chemours is seeking a

Senior Process Engineer

to join our growing

Manufacturing Technology

team! This position will report directly to the

Manufacturing Technology Manager

at our

Deepwater, NJ

location.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering expertise on unit operations such as reaction, distillation, refrigeration, pressure vessels, and scrubbers.

Provide technical oversight for day-to-day operations, including process monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.

Lead and/or participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) related activities such as Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) reviews, Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSR), Mechanical Integrity, Process Technology, and other technical and safety reviews.

Initiate Management of Change (MOC) activities to the process to improve the safety, quality, environment, and/or cost of the production unit.

Perform tests on the process to improve the safety, quality, environment, and/or cost of the production unit.

Review, revise, and create procedures and other technical documentation.

Assist capital project front-end loading to ensure equipment is specified meets process requirements at the highest uptime and lowest life cycle cost. Provide process support to all project phases.

Work on continuous improvement activities to improve area performance.

Mentor less experienced engineers and co‑ops.

Required qualifications

Minimum of a BS in Chemical Engineering.

Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience.

2+ years in a High Hazard Manufacturing Process.

Demonstrated knowledge of typical equipment used in a Chemical Plant (i.e., pumps, compressors, piping, valves, etc.).

Demonstrated capability to understand the underlying chemical interactions within a Chemical Plant.

Demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize and execute improvements that support the Business goals in Safety, Throughput & Cost.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, etc.

Demonstrated understanding of OSHA 1910 (Process Safety Management).

Preferred qualifications

8+ years Manufacturing experience in Chemicals industry.

2+ years in a High Hazard Chemical Manufacturing Process.

Capital project or continuous improvement experience.

Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power Platform.

Experience with Aspen Process Explorer / IP 21 / SEEQ and SAP/R3.

Familiar with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) technology elements such as Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Process Technology, Management of Change (MOC), Mechanical Integrity / Quality Assurance (MIQA), Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP).
