Weld Power Generator specializes in servicing mission‑critical emergency power systems for facilities in the northeastern United States. The emergency standby power generation field is largely regulatory‑driven, requiring facilities to maintain an emergency power backup system to enable safe egress, evacuation, and the integrity of vital building systems such as air‑climate, fire control, and electrical protection.

Responsibilities

Inspect and provide preventive maintenance for all makes and models of standby generators, including Kohler, Generac, MTU, Detroit Diesel, Cummins, and Caterpillar.

Inspect generator components such as alternators, wiring harnesses, safety devices, and DC battery systems.

Inspect engine components for both diesel and natural gas/propane engines.

Perform lube oil, oil filter, and fuel filter changes as required.

Perform minor repairs such as replacing common engine parts or generator‑specific items.

Complete work orders in a timely fashion.

Complete required paperwork at the end of each call using the company‑issued iPad.

Communicate with customers and office regarding issues found during assigned calls.

Respond to emergency service calls during normal hours and after‑hours when required.

Qualifications

18 years of age or older.

Clean driving record.

Background check (CORI) passed.

Relevant experience in automotive or electrical field(s).

Familiarity with hand and power tools.

Willing to procure or possess tools and circuit‑testing equipment; company provides specialty tools such as torque wrenches and power analyzers.

Committed to working safely and using provided PPE.

Knowledge of reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting charts.

Self‑starter who is punctual and able to work independently without supervision.

Able to participate in an after‑hours emergency on‑call rotation.
