Job Title: Senior ServiceNow Developer Location: Austin, TX (Onsite 3–4 days per week) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to join our client’s internal technology team in Austin, TX. The client is currently partnering with a vendor to modernize and optimize their ServiceNow platform and is looking to bring in an in‑house developer to provide long‑term ownership, support, and continuous enhancement of the system. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with business and technical teams to design, develop, and implement scalable ServiceNow solutions that streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance the user experience across the organization.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, configure, and customize applications and workflows within the ServiceNow platform.
Support the modernization of the existing ServiceNow environment, collaborating with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
Implement and maintain ServiceNow modules including IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and HR Service Delivery (HRSD).
Develop and maintain integrations with third‑party systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
Create and manage system configurations, custom tables, UI policies, business rules, client scripts, and workflows.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while ensuring platform stability, performance, and best practices.
Assist in upgrades, patching, and implementation of new ServiceNow releases.
Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and user training as needed.
Work cross‑functionally with IT, HR, and operations teams to identify automation opportunities and deliver process improvements.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of hands‑on ServiceNow development and configuration experience.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Glide scripting, and ServiceNow APIs.
Proven experience with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, or CSM.
Experience developing integrations with external systems using REST, SOAP, LDAP, or SSO.
Solid understanding of ServiceNow architecture, data model, and best practices.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) required.
Advanced certifications (Developer, Implementation Specialist, or Application Developer) a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting platform modernization or migration projects.
Familiarity with ServiceNow Flow Designer, Service Portal, and Virtual Agent.
Background in ITIL processes or certification.
Experience working in large enterprise environments.
