Brookfield is committed to the development of our people through challenging work assignments and exposure to diverse businesses.**Key Accountabilities**Brookfield is seeking a Senior Associate who will focus primarily on acquisitions of self-storage assets, as well as working with Portfolio Management on the goal of maximizing the returns on the storage team’s investments. The focus of this role will be the underwriting, closing and execution of direct real estate deals in the self-storage sector across North America.* Assist in execution of investment process including - screening, negotiating pricing, managing legal documents, completing due diligence and presenting to the investment committee* Draft investment committee memorandums, investment recommendations and investor presentations and perform supporting complex financial analysis and valuations* Participate in meetings with investment bankers, brokers, owners, operators, JV partners, etc. to optimize deal flow drive performance* Track capital market and real estate trends in the sector, including sale comps, supply/demand relative to the industry and portfolio exposure to keep team abreast of sector trends and themes* Perform data analytics and scenario analysis to assist in operational and strategic decisions to improve investment performance* Track and update status of business objectives for each property/portfolio, as needed* Work closely with the portfolio management team throughout the investment process to facilitate a smooth transition post-closing and assist in business plan execution, as needed* Work closely with junior and senior team members, senior management, Brookfield affiliates and investors**Candidate Profile*** Bachelor’s degree in Finance, real estate* 5-7 years of experience in investment banking, investment sales, real estate investing, and/or private equity* Exceptional analytical, financial modeling and valuation skills* Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly* Outstanding team player willing to take on dynamic role and new responsibilities* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal* Self-directed and motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team* Reliable, diligent, and hard working with capability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-moving environment* Proficiency in full suite of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)* Leadership capabilities and a business builder* Unquestionable ethics and integritySalary Range: $220,000 - $250,000Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive.
