Qualifications

Aide:

0–12 semester units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field; Ability to work with children ages 6 weeks–5 years of age in a child‑care setting.

Associate Teacher:

12 ECE core semester units or Child Development Associate Teacher Permit; 1 year of experience working with children ages 6 weeks–5 years of age in a child‑care setting.

Teacher:

AA or BA degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field; 2–5 years of experience working with children ages 6 weeks–5 years of age in a child‑care setting.

CPR and First Aid Certified preferred.

Must be in good health, able to lift 30 lbs chest high, and pass a physical exam.

Must be able to walk, squat, bend and stand; ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum directly connected to the needs and interests of the children.

Keep children safe and healthy through proper supervision, authentic interactions and practicing good health habits.

Knowledge of High Scope, Developmentally Appropriate Practices, Desired Results Developmental Profile and/or ITERS, ECERS preferred.

Work collaboratively with other staff by practicing workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player.

Prepare meals/snacks, maintain classroom materials, and prepare supplies required for daily activities.

Assist children with diapering/toileting needs.

Maintain accurate attendance records using a digital sign‑in/out system.

Provide excellent customer service for families, school, community and each other.
