Executive Director – Bridge of Life Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid, 2+ days per week)

Base Pay Range $100,100.00 – $147,000.00 per year.

Overview Bridge of Life is a nonprofit organization founded by DaVita, Inc. Our mission is to strengthen global health care by developing sustainable programs that prevent and treat chronic kidney disease in underserved populations. General Purpose of the Job Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Bridge of Life’s staff, finances, fundraising, communications, programs, and ensuring the organization’s financial health and compliance.

The ED will manage and motivate a talented team, collaborate and report to the board on the organization’s performance and progress, and advance the organization’s mission through resource cultivation, strategy, passionate advocacy, and effective partnerships.

Responsibilities

Effectively articulate the nonprofit’s vision, mission, theory of change, statement of need, and overall strategy and direction.

Build alignment across the organization.

Instill and reinforce a culture of teamwork, excellence, continuous improvement, and passionate commitment to the mission.

Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance, administration, fundraising, communications, and organizational systems.

Work with the board and staff to develop and monitor a 3‑year strategic plan with measurable objectives, timelines, and resources.

Actively engage and energize donors, volunteers, board members, committees, and partnering organizations.

Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors; serve as ex‑officio of each committee and seek meaningful ways to engage individual members.

Lead, coach, develop, evaluate, and retain Bridge of Life’s staff.

Ensure strategic vision is clear to internal and external stakeholders.

Work with staff to identify strategies to strengthen programs and evaluate constituents served.

Continuously engage volunteers in meaningful ways for program support and fundraising events.

Maintain systems to track progress and evaluate program impact, communicating successes to the board and funders.

Lead fundraising against a strategic and measurable resource development plan.

Continuously cultivate DaVita as a primary stakeholder, communicating impact and value through mutually beneficial activities.

Foster positive relationships with donors, partners, volunteers, and other stakeholders.

Expand revenue‑generating activities to strengthen organizational health through diverse funding sources.

Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—including website, social media, newsletters, and other strategies.

Serve as spokesperson to the organization’s current and prospective stakeholders.

Responsible for fiscal management within a board‑approved budget, ensuring effective use of resources and positive financial position.

Support production of accurate monthly financial statements and monitor financial health.

Ensure compliance with all financial requirements, including annual audit, state fundraising registrations, and required tax filings.

Oversee risk management, insurance coverage, volunteer policies, safety guidelines, and emergency preparedness.

Assess infrastructure for efficiency gains and cost reductions.

Help build, sustain, and strengthen board functions, meetings, policy compliance, and committee work.

Build alignment between board and staff while maintaining role clarity.

Collaborate with the chairperson to identify and recruit board members.

Support board directors in fulfilling key responsibilities and ensuring engagement.

Prepare materials for productive board meetings.

Support board officers to meet governance requirements.

Professional Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; master’s preferred.

Nonprofit management experience required.

Demonstrated fundraising experience with revenue growth.

Excellent donor relations and fundraising strategy understanding.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Persuasive and passionate communicator comfortable with public speaking.

Past success working with a Board of Directors and cultivating board relationships.

Strong marketing, public relations, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Solid organizational abilities, including strategic planning, team management, and results‑driving.

Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, financial analysis, and responsive decision‑making.

Compensation

The Salary Range is $100,100.00 – $147,000.00 per year.

Compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
