Starfish is seeking a Freelance Senior Media Planner & Buyer to support the development, execution, and optimization of multi-channel media campaigns across digital, social, and traditional platforms. This role will work closely with our strategy, account, and creative teams to deliver media plans that are data-driven, strategically sound, and aligned with our clients' business goals. The ideal candidate has strong B2B experience
and a solid understanding of audience targeting, media performance analytics, and platform compliance requirements—particularly within regulated categories.
Pharma experience is a plus.
This role requires someone who is both analytical and creative, able to think strategically while managing the details of planning, negotiation, and performance tracking. Responsibilities
Develop strategic media plans across paid digital, social, print, OOH, and broadcast channels Evaluate media opportunities and negotiate rates, placements, and added value with vendors Manage end-to-end campaign execution, including setup, trafficking, pacing, and optimization Collaborate with account and strategy teams to align media recommendations with client objectives and target audiences Oversee paid and organic media integration where applicable, ensuring cohesive cross-channel execution Monitor campaign performance and provide actionable insights and reporting Stay current on media trends, emerging platforms, and compliance requirements, especially within regulated industries Manage budgets effectively and ensure campaign delivery within approved spend levels Qualifications
5–7 years of experience in media planning and buying across digital and traditional channels Proven experience with B2B campaigns and performance-based planning Strong vendor relationships and negotiation skills Experience working in regulated industries (pharma, government, healthcare, etc.) a plus Proficiency with major buying and analytics platforms (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, DSPs, Nielsen, etc.) Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and priorities Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with internal and client teams What We’re Looking For
