What You’d Do As the Environmental Science Teacher at Veritas Prep High School, you will inspire students to explore the natural world, understand the systems that sustain life, and develop the critical thinking skills needed to address today's environmental challenges. Through rigorous, hands‑on, and inquiry‑based instruction, you will prepare students for success in college‑level science while fostering a classroom where every student feels safe, seen, and valued. You will collaborate closely with content and grade‑level colleagues, as well as with our higher education partners, to ensure alignment in curriculum and instruction. You'll be part of a dynamic team that centers students' voices, promotes scientific literacy, and cultivates leadership grounded in sustainability and social responsibility.

Teach all Environmental Science classes, delivering engaging, standards‑aligned lessons that connect scientific concepts to real‑world environmental issues.

Lead a Crew Advisory focused on college, career, and life readiness, using various platforms and curriculum aligned with college‑readiness.

Design and implement high‑quality lessons from OpenSciEd Chemistry that leverage your deep content knowledge and passion for science.

Contribute to and uphold school‑wide systems and routines that promote a focused, joyful, and productive learning environment.

Use assessment data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and support student growth.

Integrate college and career readiness skills into daily lessons and classroom interactions.

Build strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and community partners through regular communication and collaboration.

Engage in ongoing learning around anti‑racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and actively work to make your classroom a space that reflects these values.

Support a student‑centered school culture that encourages student leadership, feedback, and ownership of learning.

Participate fully in professional development and coaching to continuously refine your teaching practice.

Requirements

One to two years of teaching experience (preferably at the secondary level)

Deep content knowledge in Chemistry

Bachelor’s degree

Have or be eligible for a MA teaching license in Chemistry (8‑12)

SEI endorsement within one year of employment

Current authorization to work in the United States – a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment

Benefits

Salary Range for this position is $50,000 – $90,000, exclusive of fringe benefits.
