Position Summary
The Group Director, Finance Transformation is a key enterprise leader responsible for reimagining how the Finance function operates to enable the company’s long-term growth, efficiency, and strategic agility. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role defines and executes the multi-year transformation agenda that integrates people, processes, data, and technology into a cohesive, future-ready operating model. The role partners across Finance, Technology, and business leadership to modernize the function’s core systems, enhance data and analytics capabilities, and strengthen decision-making through automation and AI. The Group Director ensures that transformation initiatives led by individual Finance segments align horizontally to the enterprise strategy—creating shared platforms, standardized processes, and scalable solutions that deliver measurable business value. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Define and execute a comprehensive Finance Transformation strategy aligned to enterprise priorities and the Finance vision. Serve as the strategic integrator across all transformation programs, ensuring synergy, accountability, and clear progress toward value realization. Translate the Finance modernization vision into a prioritized, sequenced roadmap with defined milestones, benefits, and resource requirements. Technology and Data Modernization
Partner with Technology and Finance leadership to design and implement the next-generation ecosystem of financial systems, tools, and platforms. Lead the development of an integrated Finance data strategy that enhances data quality, governance, and access to real-time insights. Guide the adoption of advanced analytics, automation, and digital capabilities to increase speed, accuracy, and predictive insight across Finance. AI Leadership & Enablement
Lead the AI Transformation of the Finance function, building a strategic roadmap that integrates artificial intelligence across planning, forecasting, reporting, and decision support. Establish and oversee a dedicated AI enablement team focused on building enterprise-grade AI and GenAI capabilities, scaling solutions across Finance, and embedding AI fluency in day-to-day operations. Partner with Technology, Data Science, and business stakeholders to identify high-value use cases, evaluate build‑vs‑buy options, and ensure responsible, ethical deployment of AI. Champion experimentation and learning through pilots and proof‑of‑concepts that demonstrate tangible business outcomes and efficiency gains. Serve as Finance’s executive sponsor in enterprise AI councils and cross‑functional innovation forums. Change Leadership and Culture
Lead the organizational change required to embed new ways of working and digital fluency across the Finance function. Build readiness and capability among associates to leverage automation, analytics, and AI for data‑driven decision‑making. Ensure effective stakeholder engagement, clear communication, and consistent adoption of new tools and processes. Governance and Risk Management
Establish governance mechanisms to manage investment prioritization, risk mitigation, and benefit tracking across transformation initiatives. Maintain alignment with audit, control, and compliance requirements while modernizing processes and technologies. Provide transparent reporting to the CFO and Executive Leadership Team on progress, performance, and realized value. Enterprise Collaboration and Influence
Partner with business segment CFOs, Technology, HR, and Operations to ensure transformation efforts are cohesive and strategically aligned. Represent Finance in enterprise forums related to digital transformation, AI governance, and data architecture. Serve as a visible and credible voice of change—advocating for innovation, accountability, and measurable outcomes across the enterprise. Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Finance, Transformation, or Technology enablement within large, complex organizations. Proven record of leading multi‑year finance transformation initiatives encompassing process, technology, and data modernization. Deep domain expertise in financial systems (ERP, consolidation, FP&A, analytics platforms) and process automation technologies. Strong understanding of data governance, analytics, and AI/GenAI application in Finance. Exceptional change leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence senior executives and cross‑functional teams. Experience managing large‑scale system implementations and global transformations. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to translate strategy into executable plans with measurable outcomes. Demonstrated experience leading diverse, global teams and fostering a culture of accountability, agility, and innovation. CPA, CMA, or consulting background preferred but not required.
