Your career opportunity HSBC’s Global IT Organisation is one of the largest technology functions. Ensuring IT has the appropriate processes embedded and operating efficiently is critical to its effectiveness and ability to maintain its position as a market leader.

The Cyber Security Technology function supports a number of technologies and services across a globally dispersed team. This includes cryptography and encryption technology, Data Loss Prevention, Security Infrastructure and vulnerability management. These collective teams assure critical functions and billions of pounds worth of transactions across the organization.

What you’ll do

Be involved in Cyber Security projects and creating Engineering Policy solutions in Data Security Area.

Configure and run DLP and possible other tooling policy solutions and data scanning tooling.

Provide production support to Data Security tooling for Policies (such as Symantec, McAfee, MIP).

Use Confluence and Jira for Project and Production support tasks.

Stakeholder Management: Business communication and Audit management.

What you need to have to succeed in this role

A degree in IT, ideally specializing in IT Security. Industry qualifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM).

5+ years’ experience in Data Security Engineering.

Experience on DLP products such as Symantec DLP, Proofpoint DLP with hands‑on experience for deployment of data discovery tools.

Experience on Data Security Policy Creation, Analysis and Updates.

Demonstrable experience on Data in Motion and/or Data at Rest Security.

Experience in Agile Methodology and project planning and management. Ability to transform business requirements into delivery plans.

Be a strong team player with excellent communications skills. Ability to build strong relationships and communicate on complex IT Security issues with a wide spectrum of stakeholders.

Knowledge of the threat landscape and specific threats which Financial Services face.
