Cyber Data Protection Senior Manager
As a Cyber Data Protection Senior Manager, you will lead strategic engagements that help clients govern, protect, and manage their data across hybrid environments. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, guiding them through the implementation of Microsoft Purview’s compliance, data loss prevention (DLP), insider risk, and information governance capabilities. From day one, you’ll be empowered by the greater Risk team to help clients make the moves that will help them achieve their vision and help you achieve more, confidently.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Leading the design and deployment of Microsoft Purview solutions, including:
Information Protection & Sensitivity Labels
Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
Insider Risk Management
eDiscovery and Compliance Manager
Data Lifecycle Management and Records Management
Lead practice development and sales activities including opportunity origination, client proposal development, and deal closure.
Advising clients on enterprise data governance strategies, regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA), and risk mitigation.
Conducting current-state assessments of data protection and compliance programs, and developing future-state roadmaps.
Overseeing the integration of Microsoft Purview with Microsoft 365, Azure, and third-party data sources.
Leading workshops and executive briefings to align stakeholders on data protection goals and regulatory requirements.
Managing cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact client engagements on time and within budget.
Supporting business development through proposal development, client presentations, and thought leadership in data governance and compliance.
Staying current on evolving privacy regulations, Microsoft roadmap updates, and emerging data protection technologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.
Relevant certifications such as SC-400, CIPP, CIPM, CISSP, CISM, or other related certifications.
10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, data protection, or compliance consulting.
Prior experience leading sales activities for data protection professional services, in excess of $3M a year.
Deep expertise in Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 compliance solutions.
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, and ISO 27001.
Experience with data classification, retention policies, and insider risk management.
Proven ability to lead client engagements and manage multidisciplinary teams.
Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot for Compliance and AI-driven data governance tools.
Strong executive presence and ability to communicate complex compliance concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated success in practice development and client relationship management.
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Exceptional client service and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
Can travel as needed.
Base Salary Range Chicago, IL: $187,500 – $312,500. New York, NY: $202,500 – $337,500.
