Overview
CACTUS is a remote‑first organization and we embrace an accelerate from anywhere culture. For this critical role, we are looking for the candidate to be based in Shanghai. You may choose to work from home in Shanghai; however, you will be required to travel to our Shanghai office 3 days a week for business requirements, meetings, or company/team events, or on short notice as needed.
Responsibilities We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced marketing professional with Search marketing experience to lead the marketing and growth initiatives for Cactus Communications in China. This is a critical role responsible for driving new client acquisition, brand awareness and growth for our products and services portfolio within the China retail market. The Search Marketing Specialist will be responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing both PPC and SEO/GEO marketing initiatives across various platforms, including among others Baidu, Bing, 360, DeepSeek, ChatGPT and Perplexity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in search marketing, performance marketing, and analytics, and a keen appetite for experimentation.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, execute, and optimize paid marketing campaigns across Baidu, Bing, 360, and third‑party networks.
Develop and implement full funnel marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, drive traffic, and generate leads.
Conduct A/B testing and other experimental methodologies to optimize campaigns.
Analyse data to derive insights and make data‑driven decisions to improve campaign effectiveness.
Utilize analytics platforms such as PowerBI to track, measure, and report on campaign performance.
Manage budgets and ensure campaigns are delivered on time and within budget.
Lead SEO (on‑page, off‑page, technical) and GEO (optimising for DeepSeek, ChatGPT, Doubao etc.) to drive organic growth.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Products, Design, Business Intelligence, Content etc.) to execute on the business goals.
Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities and improve existing strategies.
Qualifications and Prerequisites
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
6+ years of hands‑on experience in paid marketing in the consumer space.
Proven experience in planning and executing campaigns across Baidu, Bing, 360, with strong analytical skills. The candidate must also have strong reporting and dashboarding skills using tools like Excel.
Experience with A/B testing and other experimentation tools, combined with a deep understanding of digital marketing concepts and best practices.
Expertise in optimization of traditional search algorithms (On‑page, off‑page and technical SEO).
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously, along with a creative mindset and passion for marketing innovation and experimentation.
Excellent communication (both written and spoken English) and interpersonal skills.
