HR Generalist
Location: Akron, Ohio
Salary: up to 75k for the right background
Position Summary
The HR Generalist provides direct support across all areas of Human Resources including staffing, compliance, and employee engagement. This individual serves as a trusted partner to managers and employees, ensuring fair and consistent practices that align with company values and operational goals.This position involves both office and manufacturing settings. The office environment is moderate in noise level. Occasional presence on the production floor is required.
Key Responsibilities
Education and Certification
Bachelor's degree in human resources,
Business Administration, or a related field required.
SHRM-CP or similar HR certification preferred.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with managers and supervisors to support staffing needs, employee relations, and workforce development.
- Manage recruiting efforts including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding for both hourly and salaried roles.
- Provide guidance on employee relations issues such as attendance, performance, and terminations.
- Support investigations and ensure consistent application of policies and procedure
- Administer benefits, payroll, leaves of absence, and related HR programs.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain HR systems and employee records with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with operations leadership on safety and compliance initiatives.
- Coordinate performance review and compensation processes.
- Support employee retention and engagement initiatives.
- Assist in developing and delivering training programs.
- Prepare HR reporting and analytics as needed.
- A minimum of three years of HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Union experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to partner across all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS systems preferred.
