Qualifications
JD degree from an accredited law school and active California bar membership in good standing
Minimum of 2 years of substantive employment litigation experience
Experience taking and defending depositions and managing discovery
Law and motion knowledge, including experience arguing motions
Working knowledge of California Civil Procedure and Federal Rules of Court
Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience developing and sustaining client relationships
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team‑oriented environment
Commitment to representing employees and protecting their rights
Responsibilities
Develop strategy and actively manage a caseload
Collaborate with co‑counsel and opposing counsel
Independently draft complaints, discovery, and motions
Communicate with clients and witnesses
Conduct discovery, including taking and defending depositions
Independently attend court hearings
Draft and argue motions, including motions for class certification
Work with expert witnesses, particularly in financial and statistical fields
Work on and assist in trial preparations
Manage settlement negotiations and participate in mediation
Take cases to trial and arbitration, if necessary
