Opportunity

Support design engineering and analysis on transmission scopes.

Support large, extensive 345kV+ rebuild and greenfield projects, including trending technologies like HVDC and 765kV.

Collect and assimilate data for engineering work; perform research and prepare calculations to meet Black & Veatch and industry standards.

Develop recommendations for equipment and materials while working within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

Assist with guiding engineering team members.

Maintain positive client relations and communicate client interests and drivers to the project team.

Assist with business development activities.

Serve as a technical specialist or in a lead role.

Apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses with minimal supervision.

Expand knowledge and skill set in your discipline.

Key Responsibilities

Provide guidance on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and B&V policies.

Own, maintain, update, or develop engineering standards and guides.

Apply B&V quality program and support continuous improvement, change management, and risk management.

Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projects and develop equipment/materials recommendations.

Perform complex calculations and manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality.

Review lower‑level engineering work and lead production teams or coordinate multiple discipline activity.

Coordinate with internal and external team members on complex projects.

Define project schedules for single or multiple disciplines.

Communicate key client interests and drivers to the project team.

Support future client needs and B&V positioning.

Serve as a technical specialist in a specialized field and provide engineering expertise.

Mentor lower and mid‑level professionals and identify successors.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong experience in 69kV to 500kV overhead transmission line design and knowledge of power line system programs.

Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable standards.

Client interaction experience with solid relationship‑building abilities in pursuit of business opportunities.

Experience designing utility‑scale electrical transmission systems.

Structural design of transmission steel structures and foundations.

Basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis and design software.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.

Minimum of 11 years related work experience.

Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background checks and drug screening.

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days based on manager discretion and performance.
