Overview EY’s Energy sector consulting practice seeks an experienced Upstream Reservoir Engineer to deliver high‑impact reservoir solutions to leading clients. This senior manager role focuses on reservoir modeling, production forecasting, and reserves evaluation to support strategic decisions, optimize asset performance, and advance digital initiatives across the upstream value chain.

Key Responsibilities

Lead reservoir engineering engagements, managing client relationships from planning through execution and closure.

Create, validate, and communicate production forecasting and reserves assessment calculations for production and reservoir simulations.

Collaborate with geoscientists, data scientists, and business consultants to deliver integrated reservoir and production solutions.

Apply advanced analytical techniques to evaluate reservoir performance for conventional and unconventional plays.

Manage project resources, budgets, and economics, ensuring engagements meet quality and risk standards.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering professional growth.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred).

5–7 years of relevant reservoir engineering experience, including modeling, forecasting, and reserves reporting.

Proficiency in industry tools such as Aries, ComboCurve, and Mosaic.

Strong analytical skills with ability to develop and validate complex reservoir calculations.

Experience in reserves reporting and familiarity with SEC and PRMS guidelines.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to translate technical insights into business value.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong negotiation and influencing skills to drive project success.

Emotional agility and ability to manage complex interpersonal dynamics.

Experience in hybrid collaboration environments and client‑facing consulting roles.

Familiarity with digital oilfield technologies, data analytics, and cloud‑based platforms.

Proactive, collaborative mindset with passion for innovation in the energy sector.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $171,600 – $392,100 (U.S.), $205,900 – $445,700 for NYC, Washington, and California (excluding Sacramento).
