Founded in 1990 and based in Annapolis, Maryland, Diversified Marine Services and Bay Shore Marine are the premier marine service providers in the Chesapeake Bay region. We specialize in marine engines and mobile yacht service, including maintenance, repairs, installations, restorations, and refits for all makes and models up to 130' in length. With multiple locations, 12,500 sq ft of workshop/office space, two restoration facilities, a fleet of 23 fully outfitted service vehicles, and a team of 50+, we offer the most comprehensive in‑house yacht service in the region. What You’ll Do As a Marine Fiberglass Craftsman, you will be responsible for executing a wide range of fiberglass fabrication and repair tasks. From minor cosmetic fixes to significant structural projects, your role will involve identifying root causes of failures and determining the appropriate repair methods to successfully complete work orders.
Fiberglass Fabrication & Repairs: Perform all aspects of fiberglass fabrication and repairs, including gelcoat and paint work.
Cosmetic to Structural Projects: Handle small cosmetic repairs to large structural projects with precision.
Root Cause Analysis: Identify the root causes of failures and determine proper repair methods.
Material Lists: Develop material lists for project completion to ensure efficiency.
Client Communication: Communicate directly with clients to clarify requirements and review critical details.
Mobile Services: Travel to marinas and private slips within a service range of approximately 30 minutes.
Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
Reporting: Complete service reports and forms accurately and submit them in a timely manner.
Business Growth: Contribute to business growth and improvement initiatives.
Team Collaboration: Assist other teams as needed, with opportunities for cross‑training if desired.
Qualifications
Proficient in gelcoat repairs, matching, sanding, and buffing.
Skilled in building small molds and plugs.
Knowledge of poly, vinyl, and epoxy resins.
Experience in the preparation, evaluation, and application of coating systems.
Understanding of safety hazards, proper PPE, and safe working practices.
Excellent team player with strong communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Basic computer skills.
High School Diploma or GED (minimum).
Certification from accredited schools or manufacturers’ schools is a plus.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
