We specialize in marine engines and mobile yacht service, including maintenance, repairs, installations, restorations, and refits for all makes and models up to 130' in length. What You’ll Do As a Senior Yacht Coatings Specialist, you’ll be responsible for OEM‑level finishes of all types on marine‑related surfaces within our service area to the highest possible standards using the best quality materials available. From minor cosmetic fixes to major repairs and total yacht painting, your role will include all the necessary tasks to complete these jobs including customer communications, inspections, planning, execution, follow‑up, and project analysis.

Your Key Duties Include

Fabrication: Perform all aspects of coating applications to parts both small and large, on vessels ranging in size from 15‑130 feet.

Repairs and Collaboration: Cosmetic and structural, work alongside skilled carpenters, systems, and composite specialists to apply surface coatings to projects that include an infinite range of parts. Inspect, evaluate, cut, grind, patch, repair, fair, and coat surfaces using appropriate tools such as saws, grinders, sanders, sprayers, and polishers. Participate, to the extent possible, with minor to moderate fiberglass repairs.

Material Selection: Apply high‑quality stains, primers, sealers, base coats, topcoats, clear coats, gel coats, and other finishes to a wide range of materials utilizing multiple techniques including touch‑ups, blends, repainting, new applications, and polishing.

Mobile Services: Travel to marinas and private slips within a service range of approximately 30 minutes.

Client Relations: Communicate directly with customers to understand the scope, communicate progress, and ensure overwhelming satisfaction.

Profitability & Growth: Build strong client relationships where projects are completed early and under budget. As a result, growth is achieved through increased customer count and job size. Improvement initiatives are daily expectations.

Reporting & Analysis: Complete service reports and forms accurately and promptly; analyze results and apply lessons learned.

Training: Participate in talent acquisition and training; cross‑training wherever applicable.

Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain and oversee clean and safe machinery and work areas, ensuring teammates adhere to all safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

Possess an expert eye for quality and laser‑focused attention to detail with 3‑4 years (or more) of experience fairing, priming, painting, and detail work - portfolios are a bonus!

Experience with a wide range of coating systems like Imron, Alexseal, and Awlgrip.

Proficient with a wide range of application techniques including staining, sealing, rolling, and spraying.

Skilled with mixing and color matching paint, metallics, stain, or varnish with various solvents and common additives like thinners, drying and leveling additives, etc.

Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, push, and pull in small, tight spaces and elevated heights in uncomfortable conditions on ladders and scaffolds regularly where elements such as heat, cold, dirt, dust, noise, and chemical fumes are present. Sometimes in large amounts. (Proper PPE and safety equipment are provided).

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Excellent team player with strong communication skills.

Basic computer skills.

High School Diploma or GED (minimum).

Certification from accredited schools or manufacturers’ schools is a plus.

Automotive, aerospace, experience welcome.

Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Ability to work under minimal to no supervision.
