Bilingual Clinician (ORR)

Position description: This role is part of the HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services (HSVS) Nuevo Camino program serving 38 unaccompanied minors, ages 5-12, in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The clinician will conduct assessments, provide individualized evidence‑based treatment, crisis intervention, and facilitate group and family therapy sessions. The position is Monday‑Friday 9:00 am–5:00 pm in person; commuting to Sunset Park is required.
Primary Responsibilities And Essential Functions
Use positive approaches when handling difficult situations; adapt to change in a fast‑moving environment.
Participate in on‑site trainings and workshops; attend external trainings at management direction.
Conduct assessments, standardized sessions, and develop individualized treatment plans.
Facilitate group and family sessions.
Participate in individual and group supervision and training to build professional growth and ensure accountability.
Complete documentation in compliance with the Office of Mental Health, state, federal and HMO regulations.
Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
Collaborate with collateral contacts, team members, and internal and external providers; document all contacts accordingly.
Maintain a weekly schedule and complete all documentation in a timely manner.
Participate in agency‑wide and internal meetings, activities and training.
Qualifications
Bilingual in Spanish (read, write and speak proficiently) – required.
New York State License: LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LCAT.
Background in mental health counseling with children/youth.
Interest in professional growth and working with children impacted by immigration.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with a team.
Ability to learn the Electronic Health Record.
HSVS requires proof of vaccination prior to start date; accommodations available for medical or religious reasons.
