Director – Utilities & Midstream Join Fitch Ratings as a Senior Director leading coverage of the Utilities and Midstream sector. This role supports a global rating agency in the United States, with primary locations in New York, Chicago, or Toronto.

Responsibilities

Perform analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing credit quality of companies in the Utilities and Midstream sectors.

Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models.

Conduct meetings with retail and consumer industry management teams.

Present analysis to internal credit rating committees.

Communicate rating rationale to external audiences (institutional investors, sell-side analysts, media) via meetings, conference calls, press releases and written research reports.

Write timely and effective research on topical issues.

Participate in the evaluation of other credits within Corporates and related credit groups.

Represent Fitch in panel discussions and conferences arranged by industry associations and regulatory bodies.

Mentor junior members of the Utilities & Midstream sector.

May include managerial responsibilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (minimum) – MBA or advanced degree preferred.

CFA, CPA or CFA candidate preferred.

5–10 years of relevant experience, with coverage or knowledge of the Utilities and Midstream sectors a plus.

Capital markets and/or credit analysis experience a plus.

Expertise in Excel and Word.

Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change.

Team-oriented mindset.

Professional background in capital markets and/or credit analysis with strong financial statement analysis skills.

Desire to deepen exposure to and understanding of debt capital markets.
