Description
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk works closely with sales, customer service
and freight carriers to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM
Key Responsibilities:
Prepares and process shipping documents (bills of lading, packing lists) Verify the accuracy of shipping and receiving records. Maintain organized filing systems for all shipping related paperwork. Enter and update shipment data in the WMS. Generate reports for shipping, receiving, and inventory status. Serve as the liaison between warehouse staff, sales and logistics, and carriers. Conducts regular inventory counts and orders office supplies, safety gear, and other non-production items. Tracks purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials. Escalate complex problems to management when necessary. Requirements
Qualifications and Core Competencies:
High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred. Basic computer skills (inventory management software, emails, spreadsheets). Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and labels. Familiarity with safety regulations and warehouse best practices. Communication ability in Spanish or Polish is a plus. Knowledge of the Chicago Metropolitan area with a good sense of direction and the ability to provide directions to truck drivers. Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and carriers. Attention to Detail, ensures accuracy in documentation and inventory handling Manage time to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment to ensure tasks are complete. Ability to adjust to changing priorities and workload. Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs. regularly. Standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift. Comfortable working in varying temperatures (including freezer areas if applicable).
