The Electric Project Engineer is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing all phases of complex electric utility projects—from initial concept through design, construction, and project closeout. This role involves developing electrical designs, preparing specifications and cost estimates, and composing technical reports related to electric utility maintenance and construction activities. Ideal Candidate This professional is detail-oriented and solutions-focused, with expertise in electrical system design, regulatory compliance, and project execution. Technical skills include power distribution, substations, CAD/GIS drafting, and field commissioning, with a strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards. They excel at coordinating teams, managing schedules and budgets, and delivering projects from start to finish. Their troubleshooting skills, stakeholder communication, and interest in renewable energy and smart infrastructure make them a valuable team member. Depending on qualifications, positions may be filled at the following levels: Assistant Power Engineer ($127,649.60 - $156,291.20 annually)

Associate Power Engineer ($141,148.80 - $172,889.60 annually)

Power Engineer ($159,224.00 - $195,041.60 annually)

here . Qualifications typically include: Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering or equivalent experience. At least three years of progressively responsible electric utility engineering and project management experience. Note: A Master’s degree or PE registration is preferred. Special Requirements: Registration as a Professional Engineer in California or reciprocity from another state with registration within one year of employment.
