Base Pay Range $180,000.00/yr - $250,000.00/yr
As a Tax Director, you’ll take on a pivotal leadership role, overseeing sophisticated tax engagements, deepening client partnerships, and steering business expansion. You’ll lead a team of talented professionals, champion technical precision, and identify new opportunities that drive both client success and firm growth. The ideal candidate is an influential advisor with a strategic mindset, proven leadership experience, and a passion for delivering excellence in every client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Expand revenue within existing client relationships through proactive service and strategic insights.
Lead short‑term and long‑term business planning, identifying growth opportunities and contributing to firm‑wide objectives.
Manage practice performance, meeting goals related to billing, realization, and individual charge hours.
Develop and execute a personal marketing and business development plan, including new client acquisition and cross‑serving existing clients.
Serve as a key client contact, maintaining strong relationships and acting as a trusted business advisor.
Ensure quality control standards are consistently met across all engagements.
Oversee and mentor staff, managing engagement teams and supporting professional development.
Act as an internal technical advisor and Subject Matter Expert on complex tax issues.
Participate as a member of the Senior Operations Management Team, contributing to strategic decisions and firm leadership.
Foster a positive, team‑oriented culture, supporting collaboration and alignment with management goals.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in public accounting or a related field.
At least 6 years of supervisory experience with proven leadership and staff development capabilities.
Active CPA license or equivalent certification required.
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in applicable tax and accounting technologies.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated integrity, client service excellence, and business acumen.
Ability to travel based on client and business needs.
