Job Summary
The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Social Worker in the school-based behavioral health program. Responsible for exercising managerial leadership for planning, development, and implementation of a comprehensive Social Work program. Provides clinical supervision to 10‑12 Licensed Clinicians and manages delivery of services for children and families. Oversees coordination of program staff and makes major decisions affecting program activities. Identifies and develops long‑ and short‑range plans, develops and implements new directions. Establishes performance standards, evaluates work performance, and provides guidance on guidelines. Oversees case‑management services for students and families, including eligibility determinations and referral monitoring. May conduct educational presentations on mental‑health issues for students, families, and school staff.
Key Responsibilities
Exercising managerial leadership for planning, development, and implementation of the Social Work program.
Providing clinical supervision to 10–12 Licensed Clinicians.
Coordinating the delivery of social work services for children and families.
Overseeing coordination of all program staff and making major decisions affecting program activities.
Identifying and developing long‑ and short‑range plans and implementing new directions.
Establishing performance standards, evaluating work performance, and advising on guidelines.
Overseeing case‑management services, determining eligibility and monitoring referrals.
Conducting educational presentations on mental‑health issues for students, families, and school staff.
Qualifications
Master’s or higher degree with major in health or allied sciences.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.
Licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
through DC Health License Commission Board.
Experience managing operational elements of the School Behavioral Health Program.
School experience required.
Pre‑employment physical and criminal background check.
Work Environment The work is usually performed in an office setting. The position may require presence during emergencies.
