Job Summary
The Surg Center of Silver Spring is seeking a full‑time Pre‑Op PACU Nurse. The RN Pre‑Op/PACU is a Registered Nurse who provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. This role delivers safe, effective, and patient‑family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations and reports to the Manager of Peri‑Operative Services.

Pay Range: Min: $42.86 – Max: $56.38.
(Wages are determined based on several factors including qualifications and experience.)
Education, Training & Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current Virginia nursing license
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre‑Op/PACU; previous ambulation in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understanding of aseptic technique principles and implementation
Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors
Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions
Excellent teaching skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Demonstration of strong professional and ethical behavior
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, and fellow employees (teamwork)
Strong customer service skills
Accountability, creativity, innovation, and receptiveness to change
Basic knowledge of performance improvement ideology
