Responsibilities
Plan, direct, organize, coordinate, and implement nursing care services for post‑surgical patients.
Work in the post‑anesthesia care unit monitoring vitals and managing pain and nausea.
Complete ongoing patient assessments and documentation per policy.
Admit, transfer, and discharge patients.
Participate in developing patient plan of care.
Report symptoms and significant changes to appropriate personnel immediately.
Coordinate discharge planning with the care team.
Demonstrate age‑specific standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Provide competent IV setting, medication administration, and care during altered consciousness.
Required Skills / Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
Current Georgia Nursing License.
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Minimum 2 years experience with Pre‑Op/PACU.
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient management.
Understanding of aseptic techniques.
Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
Problem‑solving, rapid adaptation to patient condition changes.
Excellent teaching, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Professional ethics and teamwork.
Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology.
