Job Summary
Conducts procedures and tests using MRI equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 5:00pm-5:30am

Responsibilities
Patient Identification: Uses professional manners and methods, verifies patient identification, obtains patient history, assists patients and family members that require extra attention, ensures patient understanding and safety; verifies pregnancy status for child‑bearing patients.
MRI Technology: Demonstrates knowledge of MRI and cross‑sectional human anatomy; operates MRI scanners, manages automatic injections of MRI contrast, uses PACS and laser printers; maintains ARRT or ARMRIT certification with required CE’s; interprets protocols and selects appropriate scanning parameters; shares knowledge and assists with troubleshooting.
Contrast Administration: Administers oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients per protocols, establishes intravenous lines, administers IV contrast safely, verifies eligibility, checks lab values before injection.
Image Transfer: Maintains PACS, transmits images to QC, EMR, EPIC and PACS; verifies and segments images at the QC station; accesses IMPAX tools; completes, modifies, or cancels orders in a timely manner; ensures accurate charge information and correct patient identification.
Other Duties: Performs tasks efficiently, schedules consistently, volunteers for challenging tasks and new research, produces diagnostic images, reviews patient charts and reports, maintains a clean environment, documents incidents, and precepts new employees and students.
Education Requirements
Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at application time.
Licensure/Certification Requirements
Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences (ARRS), American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), or registry‑eligible.
Registry‑eligible candidates must provide a copy of the diploma from an accredited program.
Must obtain advanced certification in MRI within one year of employment.
Maintain registry status and annual continuing education.
Maintain current competency in HCP BLS.
Professional Experience Requirements
Prior education, training, and experience that enables the performance of assigned tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements
Advanced MRI technical knowledge.
Excellent patient communication skills.
Proficiency with PACS, EMR, and imaging software.
Strong troubleshooting and teamwork abilities.
