Job Description And Duties The Measurement Assessment and Research Section (MARS) operates a mobile source emissions testing facility with chassis dynamometers, advanced laboratory analyzers, Portable Emissions Measurement Systems (PEMS), and a Portable Emissions Acquisition System (PEAQS). MARS supports vehicle regulation development, enforcement, and research projects aimed at reducing criteria pollutants and greenhouse gases from heavy‑duty vehicles.
You will be responsible for:
Developing and deploying a non‑invasive roadside emissions measurement system (PEAQS) for real‑world heavy‑duty vehicle emissions.
Conducting conventional laboratory testing on heavy‑duty chassis dynamometers.
Designing and executing experiments, managing resources, and analyzing large data sets with computational methods.
Preparing technical reports and peer‑reviewed publications.
Collaborating with CARB mobile source workgroups and other stakeholders.
Special Requirements Applicants must submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) describing how their skills, experience, and education meet this position’s requirements. Resumes alone are not sufficient.
