Remote – considered for candidates with 10+ years in nuclear design

Responsibilities

Lead a dynamic team, balancing priorities, ensuring quality, and meeting deadlines while driving project success.

Strategic Impact: Power uprates are rapidly becoming a cornerstone of U.S. energy policy, driven by recently passed legislation aimed at accelerating clean energy deployment. This role places you at the center of that transformation.

Career Springboard: With the U.S. targeting a fourfold increase in nuclear capacity, this role positions you to transition seamlessly into future projects, giving you a front-row seat to the next generation of nuclear development.

Unit Leadership & Management: Serve as focal point for initial unit contact, direct/assign work, approve timesheets, conduct performance appraisals, and support recruitment.

Quality Control & Technical Oversight: Maintain unit quality standards, certify design documents, and resolve technical issues through leadership or coordination with SMEs.

Project Management & Client Relations: Ensure unit meets budget and schedule, approve engineering documents, lead proposal preparation, and develop client relationships.

Staff Development & Performance: Provide coaching, promote professional development, and support career growth.

Administrative Support: Support company policies & procedures and maintain staffing plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.

Minimum of 6 years design engineering experience in power generation or nuclear power, with at least 2 years as a group lead or supervisor.

Professional Engineering License required.

Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.

Ability to motivate team and achieve goals with a positive, winning attitude.

Proven experience with high-level decision making and oversight of technical work performed by others.

Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.

Required to travel 15–25% of the time to client sites.

Activities at client sites may require pre-job briefs and walkdowns, including occasional climbing.

Pay Range USD $130,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year.
