Position Overview

The Director of Clinical Resources has administrative oversight of the clinical education courses in the School of Nursing. This position is responsible for supervising personnel and overseeing the scheduling of clinical courses, ensuring sufficient clinical sites, overseeing the collection of student health and background checks, and assisting in evaluating adjunct faculty. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.

What you will be doing

Participate in the development of schedules for clinical courses and sites

Oversee staff using the Centralized Clinical Placement System (CPPS) and Complio for clinical scheduling

Initiate, coordinate, and secure outside clinical placement for ASN and BSN programs

Ensure student health and background information arrives at clinical agencies in a timely, current, and complete manner

Oversee the collection and storage of student health and background check information

Serve as the primary MDC contact person for clinical agencies used by the School of Nursing

Collaborate with Department Chairs to ensure appropriate staffing for each clinical course

Visit clinical sites to ensure that adjunct faculty are working with students to meet course and agency expectations

Perform other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed

Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited institution and three (3) years of experience in nursing education

Florida license or eligibility for a license as a registered nurse

Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures

Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and specific computer programs related to the area of responsibility

Computer fluency and database management skills related to Nursing Education

Excellent organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written)

Effective interpersonal skills

Ability to effectively present information to groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions for reporting purposes

Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff

Additional Requirements The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
