Responsibilities The successful candidate will manage the preparation and processing of CEQA compliance documents and related technical studies, as well as client expectations, project schedules, and budgets. Duties include document preparation; coordination with other environmental planning staff, in‑house technical specialists, and subconsultants; budget and invoice management; and interaction with clients and reviewing agencies (county, city, CDFW, RWQCB, USACE). Proposal preparation and business development are also required, and the successful candidate must possess the experience, communication skills, and interest for these activities. The ideal candidate must have good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build collaborative relationships among team members, other HELIX staff, clients, subconsultants, and agencies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in environmental studies, environmental science, environmental engineering, public planning, or a related field.
Minimum three years of professional experience in the preparation of CEQA compliance documents.
Excellent writing, verbal communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
Strong attention to detail, including strong spelling, proofreading, and organizational skills.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Additional Skills Considered a Plus
Master’s or PhD degree in environmental studies, environmental science, geography, natural science, environmental engineering, public planning, business, or a related field.
Experience in the preparation of proposals and management of CEQA compliance projects.
Experience in leading proposals and business pursuits and marketing of environmental consulting services.
Existing client relationships.
Pay Salary range of $75,000 to $120,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
