Position Description Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. Primary Purpose As a commercial representative of the largest natural gas pipeline company and the fourth‑largest energy company in North America, the selected candidate will represent Kinder Morgan’s core values internally and externally, interact with senior management, lead negotiations with external customers, and strategically influence revenue decisions.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and implement business development strategy.

Originate and manage projects in the Gulf Coast that enhance the profitability of Kinder Morgan’s Midstream group, including capital expansions, acquisitions, and project development.

Identify prospects, lead negotiations, and prepare agreements with potential customers or counterparties.

Coordinate cross‑functional teams (Facilities Design, Engineering, Environmental, Land, Legal, Accounting, Marketing, Regulatory) to produce scopes of work, identify project risks, and generate cost estimates.

Evaluate project economics, prepare management presentations, and present investment opportunities for approval.

Conduct and participate in negotiations of business transactions and draft definitive agreements for approved projects.

Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers and other key industry representatives.

Perform market and competitor analysis.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree (required); studies in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, or Finance.

Master’s Degree (preferred).

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

5+ years of experience in the energy industry, specifically in developing new business investment opportunities.

Ability to analyze all aspects of a natural gas business arrangement: technical, financial, contractual, legal, operational, and marketing.

Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Ability to influence without authority by working with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.

Problem‑solving aptitude with the ability to find resolutions.

Self‑motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision or direction.

Flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor with co‑workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.

Willingness to travel as needed.

Significant experience and business contacts within the natural gas industry.

Ultimate job level will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.

Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge

Working knowledge of the Louisiana intrastate market.

Experience in the Mississippi corridor.
