Principal Cloud DevOps Engineer – Operations

Position Overview
The IFI Cloud Service includes a wide array of components including web services, application servers, and databases. The Principal Cloud DevOps Engineer will be responsible for deploying and maintaining the IFIaaS applications in hybrid cloud environments. Ultimately, the candidate will be responsible for the functional management of all the IFIaaS cloud environments, applications, networks, projects, and the resolution of application and network issues. This role involves maintaining CI/CD pipelines, optimizing cloud and on‑prem operations, and participating in a 24x7 on‑call rotation to ensure high availability and performance.
Responsibilities
Implement and support a hybrid cloud environment in Microsoft Azure and on‑premise.
Lead the design and deployment of IFIaaS service initiatives.
Ensure IFIaaS application reliability, maintenance, and upgrades.
Analyze data within toolsets to proactively maintain uptime and quality of service.
Perform product evaluations and make product recommendations.
Implement system enhancements (software) and automation opportunities to improve performance and reliability of the IFIaaS solution.
Update build books, automation, and create new templates as required.
Manage activities with complete integrity and in accordance with organizational policies, systems, and practices.
Provide escalation assistance to resolve technology‑stack related issues.
Perform incident analysis, problem resolution, and data analysis to measure quality of service and scalability.
Collaborate with network architects to design and implement functional company networks.
Work with the Networking CoE team to create and implement network security measures.
Coach and mentor junior engineering staff.
Conduct regular network performance tests.
Scope epics, user stories, and support weekly sprint planning.
Contribute to the operations support model to support requests and participate in a 24x7 on‑call support rotation and off‑hours maintenance windows as assigned.
Other duties and projects as required.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent.
8+ years of experience in IT deployments.
Extensive experience working with enterprise‑level micro‑services applications, including deployment and maintenance in distributed environments.
Hands‑on experience with DevOps tooling (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, etc.) and network security.
High‑level managerial skills.
Must be flexible to support a 24x7 on‑call rotation and off‑hours maintenance as needed.

Compensation Range The anticipated starting base pay for this position is $134,939–$197,910 per year (in the primary posting location). Additional compensation may include discretionary annual incentive plans and comprehensive benefits including medical, vision, dental, 401(k) matching, life and disability insurance, mental health coaching, paid personal time off, 12 paid holidays, parental leave, and education reimbursement.
