Sr. Exploitation Specialist/Data Scientist

to provide on‑site support at the

National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)

in

Arnold, MO .

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) expects to deliver AOS Metadata Cataloging and Management Services to enhance product and asset management of content, enabling rapid creation of discoverable, modular, web‑enabled, and visually enriched Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) products for intelligence producers across the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG).

What You’ll Do

Coordinate with clients to understand questions and issues involving their datasets, and determine the best method and approach to create data‑driven solutions within program guidelines.

Lead or assist in the development of automated processes and architect data science solutions, including automated workflows.

Conduct analysis and use available tools to analyze data, remain adaptable to mission requirements, and identify patterns to help solve complex problems facing the DoD and Intelligence Community.

Work with large structured and unstructured data to define and create streamlined processes for evaluating unique datasets and solving challenging intelligence issues.

Lead and participate in the design of solutions and refinement of pre‑existing processes.

Work with Customer Stakeholders, Program Managers, and Product Owners to translate roadmap features into components/tasks, estimate timelines, identify resources, suggest solutions, and recognize possible risks.

Use exploratory data analysis techniques to identify meaningful relationships, patterns, or trends from complex data.

Apply applied mathematics, programming skills, analytical techniques, and data to provide impactful insights for decision makers.

Research and implement optimization models, strategies, and methods to inform data management activities and analysis.

Apply big data analytic tools to large, diverse sets of data to deliver impactful insights and assessments.

Conduct peer reviews to improve the quality of workflows, procedures, and methodologies.

Help build high‑performing teams; mentor team members providing development opportunities to increase their technical skills and knowledge.

Required Qualifications

Requires TS/SCI Clearance with the ability to obtain a CI/Poly.

10+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of experience and certifications).

Experience supporting IC operations.

Expert knowledge of manipulating and analyzing structured/unstructured data.

Experience in data mining and maintaining databases.

Experience identifying potential system enhancements, new capabilities, concept demonstrators, and capability business cases.

Experience using GOTS data processing and analytics capabilities to modernize analytic methodologies.

Experience using COTS statistical software (e.g., Map Reduce, Tableau, MATLAB) for advanced statistical analysis and data visualization.

Knowledge of advanced analytic methodologies and their implementation to enable customer satisfaction.

Experience directing highly skilled technical and analytical teams responsible for developing solutions to complex analytical and intelligence problems.

Experience conducting multi‑IC and technology‑specific research to support mission operations.

Effective communications skills and the ability to provide highly detailed information in an easy‑to‑understand format.

Desired Qualifications

Possess a Master's degree in Data Science or a related technical field.

Experience developing and working with AI/ML.

Advanced programming experience in Python, C++, JavaScript, ArcGIS, SQL, or related GIScience tools.

Experience building and maintaining databases of GEOINT, SIGINT, or OSINT data.

Data visualization experience (e.g., Matrix Analytics, Network Analytics, Graphing Data).
