•
Coordinating with HR about changes in payroll (e.g., promotions, transfers, terminations, new hires, etc.).
•
Processing attendance records and other documents (e.g., W-2 and tax forms).
•
Reviewing payroll information for accuracy and ensuring all relevant paperwork is in order.
•
Computing wages, deductions, bonuses, benefits, etc.
•
Recording and maintaining employee records and payroll transactions.
•
Preparing statements and reports reflecting earnings, taxes, and deductions for recordkeeping and auditing purposes.
•
Answering questions and resolving issues regarding payroll.
•
Ensuring compliance with company policies, tax and wage laws, and relevant industry regulations.
•
Preparing and processing hourly and salaried weekly and/or bi-weekly payrolls for electronic payments and distribution of payroll checks.
•
Processing stop-payments or adjustments of payroll.
Qualifications/Experience:
•
High School Diploma or GED required. College degree in business, accounting, finance, or relevant field preferred.
•
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required. Familiarity with database software (Access, PeopleSoft) preferred.
•
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.•
Ability to compile, sort, and interpret data.
•
Must have good organizational and time management skills.
•
Must be quality and accuracy oriented and have a good attention to detail.
•
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
•
3-5 years of experience as a payroll coordinator or similar role, preferably with multi-state payroll experience.
•
Working knowledge of accounting and payroll practices, legislation relevant to accounting and payroll, and tax laws.
•
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
•
Previous experience processing union and/ or prevailing wage payroll preferred.
•
Knowledge of ADP payroll experience preferred.
