Teamlead Procurement Mechanical ComponentsYour Work ContextYour RoleAs part of a large procurement organisation, you will be responsible for managing an operational purchasing team of 12 team members with the aim of optimising purchasing activities. You will oversee the entire purchasing process, from request to delivery and payment of the desired goods, ensuring the best quality, delivery reliability, service and price. You will be supported in this by Procurement Excellence and a team of category buyers. The parts and components purchased within the mechanical components team include: spare parts for our ships' engines, valves, pumps, hydraulic components, etc.Coaching & Team Development* Coaching team members (administrative staff, purchasers and senior purchasers) in purchasing activities.* Supporting the development of technical and commercial knowledge, documentation and purchasing skills.* Conducting regular one-to-one meetings with team members.* Identifying training needs and providing targeted training.Strategy & Process Guidance* Drawing up team-specific purchasing strategies, aligned with the general departmental strategy.* Guiding team members in the implementation of strategies and contract negotiations.* Supervising the correct application of procedures.* Active participation in working groups within Procurement Operational.Quality & Performance Monitoring* Setting up and following up on team-specific KPIs.* Monitoring and optimising the workload within the team.* Monitoring and improving lead times from request to order, including complaint handling.* Checking orders for content, item composition and delivery conditions.* Following up on critical request lines and orders.Communication & Stakeholder Management* Planning, coordinating and leading biweekly team meetings.* Developing relationships and organising meetings with internal and external stakeholders.* Bachelor's degree (technical field is a plus) or A2 with relevant experience* Experience in a similar position and in coaching people* Affinity with a wide range of technical fields* Experience in a purchasing or sales environment is an asset* Proficient in drawing up and following up on schedules* Good knowledge of Dutch and EnglishWorking at Jan De NulWorking at Jan De Nul means helping to find solutions to some of the biggest challenges of our time: from energy transition to rising sea levels to smart mobility.
