We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established firm seeking an experienced
Payroll Specialist
with certified payroll expertise. Located in Sacramento, our client offers a stable work environment, competitive compensation, and the chance to contribute to impactful projects that serve local communities.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting and brings a strong understanding of prevailing wage compliance, including the nuances of certified payroll reporting
Pay: $33-$36/hour depending on experience. 100% onsite
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Process weekly payroll for field and administrative employees Maintain accurate records of timekeeping, job costing, and fringe benefits Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and union agreements Assist with quarterly tax filings and respond to audit request Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in full compliance with state and federal regulations, including prevailing wage requirements under the Davis-Bacon Act. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
+2 years of payroll experience, preferably in construction or related industries Hands-on experience with certified payroll reporting Familiarity with prevailing wage regulations and union payroll practices Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities Experience with Vista/Viewpoint or similar ERP systems is a plus
