Senior Asset Manager

will be instrumental in developing the analytical framework and financial oversight processes that ensure sustained operational excellence and investment performance at scale. About the Role The

Senior Asset Manager

will oversee Proper’s portfolio-level asset performance, using financial analysis and data insights to identify trends, detect risk, and direct on-the-ground teams toward improvement opportunities. This highly analytical, data-driven leader will bridge the gap between investment strategy and operational execution — using data generated from our technology platform (UDP) to monitor KPIs, benchmark performance, and proactively address underperformance before it impacts returns. The ideal candidate has deep multifamily investment knowledge, exceptional financial acumen, and the ability to synthesize complex data into clear recommendations for regional operators and senior executives. Key Responsibilities Lead portfolio-level oversight of multifamily assets across Proper’s platform, identifying early indicators of risk and opportunity. Partner with platforms to

build analytical tools and benchmarking dashboards

that monitor key financial and operational metrics across all portfolios. Develop and maintain a

comprehensive benchmarking system

to evaluate portfolio companies and property performance, presenting insights and trends to the executive team and Board. Analyze financial and operational data (NOI, CapEx, controllable expenses, payroll, utility usage, etc.) to identify exceptions and recommend corrective actions. Direct regional and on-site teams through

exception reporting

— highlighting where deeper investigation or operational action is required. Collaborate with regional asset management teams to ensure recommendations are executed and followed through to resolution. Partner with M&A, finance, and property management teams to ensure consistent data alignment across investment and operational systems. Identify and escalate performance issues, capital inefficiencies, and underperforming assets before they materially impact returns. Develop and present regular

portfolio benchmarking reports

to senior leadership and the Board, providing narrative context behind performance metrics. Contribute to the ongoing design of Proper’s

data-driven investment management framework , ensuring analytics are integrated into portfolio decision-making. Requirements Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field. 10+ years of experience

in multifamily asset management, consulting, or institutional real estate finance. Proven expertise in financial modeling, variance analysis, and performance forecasting. Strong understanding of

multifamily operations, controllable expenses, CapEx, and tax appeals . Deep financial and analytical background. Exceptional ability to interpret complex financial data and distill it into actionable insights. Strategic thinker who can design frameworks to monitor and enhance asset performance. Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience briefing executives and boards. Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities with minimal oversight. Familiarity with Yardi, RealPage, or similar property management software preferred. Master’s degree (MBA or MS in Real Estate/Finance) preferred.
