Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Representative to support field operations on major power delivery projects, including transmission line, substation, and distribution construction. This role ensures full compliance with safety regulations, promotes a culture of safety across all job sites, and provides guidance to both contractor and client teams in the execution of safe and efficient construction activities.Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and enforce safety programs on active power delivery construction sites. Conduct daily site safety inspections, audits, and job hazard analyses (JHAs). Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company-specific safety policies. Support pre-job planning, safety orientations, and toolbox talks. Investigate and document incidents, near misses, and safety observations. Collaborate with construction managers, foremen, and subcontractors to proactively address potential hazards. Review and approve contractor safety plans, lift plans, and work procedures. Track and report safety metrics and corrective actions. Provide ongoing safety training and mentorship to field personnel. Participate in project meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The Successful Applicant
Qualifications:
Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field (preferred). Experience: 3-7+ years of field safety experience supporting power delivery, utility, or heavy industrial construction projects. Certifications:
OSHA 30-hour Construction (required) First Aid/CPR (required) CSP, CHST, or CUSP certification (preferred)
Knowledge of:
OSHA 500 or 1926 standards and utility construction best practices Transmission, substation, or distribution work environments Fall protection, electrical safety (NFPA 70E), confined space, and crane safety procedures
Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to travel to multiple job sites within a region. What's on Offer
