SALARY: $42,500

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Housing Navigator will identify youth in Butler County, aged 14-24, who are

homeless, will engage identified youth and will focus on reducing barriers to housing. The

Navigator will provide supportive services and will assist youth with accessing relevant

resources. The Housing Navigator will also assist in accessing grant funds for this population as

appropriate and needed. This position will be embedded with the Success school liaisons and

work with school district leaders. The Housing Navigator will also work with the Family and

Children First Council & Serve City who are grant partners. The Housing Navigator must be

open to work evenings and weekends as needed for community outreach and follow-up with

youth.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent plus 4 years relevant work experience required. Bachelor's degree in social services, sociology, psychology, or related field preferred. Background in youth experiencing barriers/families/social services preferred. Knowledge of community resources, particularly around housing, child welfare practices and Job and Family Service public assistance benefits preferred. Understanding of Trauma Informed Care. Excellent communication, organizational skills and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work with community partners. Ability to work effectively with diverse sectors of the community. Ability to work independently. Ability and willingness to work flexible, nontraditional hours and in multiple settings. History of good job attendance. Valid driver's license and access to personal vehicle.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non - prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
