Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Reconcile general ledger accounts and clear outstanding items within required timeframes. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account analyses during monthly and annual closes. Assist in preparing quarterly Call Reports and supporting documentation. Maintain the Fixed Asset subledger, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules. Provide documentation for audits and examinations, and support ad hoc financial reporting. Serve as backup for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting. Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Uphold confidentiality of all financial and member information. Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a financial institution. Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas) and accounting software. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. Preferred: Experience in credit unions or banking, and familiarity with Call Report schedules or systems such as Jack Henry/Velera or Sage Intacct.
