Our client is an HVAC contractor specializing in the installation, service, and maintenance of commercial and industrial heating, cooling, and clean room systems. They are searching for an HVAC Tech to join their team ASAP!

Salary: $40-45/hour (flexible/based on experience) + full comprehensive benefits

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable, skilled HVAC Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on rooftop units, boilers, chillers, and packaged units in clean-environment / commercial settings. This role does not include residential service work.

Job Responsibilities: Install new HVAC systems, including running line sets, piping, ductwork, and wiring. Perform start-ups, commissioning, and system balancing for new installs. Conduct routine preventive maintenance and inspections on rooftop units, boilers, chillers, packaged units, and related HVAC equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues. Replace components (motors, compressors, coils, valves, etc.) as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and schematics. Document work performed, parts used, and time on service reports or digital work orders. Work in clean environments (e.g. manufacturing, controlled spaces) with attention to minimizing contamination. Adhere to safety standards, codes, and company policies; maintain clean, organized job sites. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, clients, and other trades to ensure smooth installations and system performance.

Qualifications:

Valid Connecticut HVAC License S2 (or equivalent). Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a commercial HVAC technician (rooftops, boilers, chillers, packaged systems). Strong mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting skills. Ability to run refrigerant linesets, brazing/soldering, pipefitting, and ductwork. Proficiency reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, etc. Good computer/tech skills for using digital work orders, controls interfaces, test instruments, and service software. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to lift equipment/parts (e.g. HVAC units, motors), work on rooftops, ladders, scaffolding, and in mechanical rooms. Must be detail-oriented, organized, safety conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
