Material Coordinator C seeks a
Material Coordinator (Production Clerk / Purchasing Agent)
to work closely with and under the supervision of the
Materials & Logistics Manager
to
coordinate and expedite the execution of Navy course convenings through scheduled inventory tracking, procurement, and material accountability . Summary The Material Coordinator supports Navy training operations by coordinating, procuring, and managing materials required for scheduled course convenings. This role ensures accurate inventory tracking, timely procurement, proper issue of materials, and accountability of Navy equipment and consumables. The position requires knowledge of Navy supply processes, logistics systems, and compliance with government property, security, and procurement regulations. Responsibilities Coordinate and expedite materials in alignment with training schedules; review and distribute inventory as needed for course convenings.
Research, identify, and procure Navy materials and parts using
FEDLOG ,
Navy ERP ,
One Touch Support (OTS) , and other DoD logistics systems.
Process purchase requests and issue purchase orders in compliance with
FAR/DFARS
and Navy supply chain regulations.
Track shipments end-to-end; reconcile packing lists, bills of lading, and receipts; resolve delivery issues with vendors and carriers.
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials for accuracy, damage, and compliance; document acceptance in Navy ERP or equivalent systems.
Maintain accurate inventory control via cycle counts, reconciliations, and system updates; track high-value and controlled items.
Manage the issue and return of materials to production and maintenance teams, ensuring accountability and documentation.
Assemble, issue, and track material kits for Navy training classes, ensuring kits are complete, functional, and documented.
Inspect and, when required, perform minor maintenance on support equipment and training aids to ensure serviceability.
Safeguard materials subject to
CUI ,
ITAR , export control, or other sensitive categories in compliance with Navy security and handling requirements.
Confer with team members to forecast material needs; support replenishment aligned to readiness and production schedules.
Compile and deliver material status reports and briefings to supervisors, program managers, and government customers.
Ensure compliance with Navy supply policies, safety standards, and property accountability requirements.
Requirements Education Requirement Bachelor's degree in
Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Logistics,
or a related field.
Experience Requirement 3-5 years
of relevant experience in procurement, production, inventory management, or purchasing within a government, military, or defense contracting environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of Navy supply chain processes, including use of
FEDLOG, Navy ERP, OTS , or similar DoD logistics systems.
Familiarity with
FAR/DFARS ,
ITAR ,
CUI , and Navy material accountability/security requirements.
Experience Requirement - tools and software Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite
(Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and common reporting tools.
Working knowledge of Navy/DoD logistics systems (e.g.,
FEDLOG, Navy ERP, OTS ; exposure to
R-Supply/RSUPPLY
a plus).
Comfort with inventory control platforms and basic maintenance documentation.
Experience Requirement - soft skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive material requests in support of training schedules.
Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with team members, vendors, and government customers.
Attention to detail, problem-solving, and commitment to compliance and accountability.
Additional Requirements
Must be US Citizen Must have an active DoD security clearance or eligibility to obtain one
Preferred Qualifications
Prior
U.S. Navy
or
DoD
supply/logistics experience.
Working knowledge of
R-Supply / RSUPPLY
or similar Navy logistics systems.
Professional certification such as
CPSM ,
CSCP , or equivalent.
Experience supporting
training pipelines, technical schools, or course convenings
with materials and equipment.
Familiarity with
government property management systems
and audit requirements.
Forklift ,
HAZMAT handling , or other relevant equipment/safety certifications.
