Job Description Job Description Scientific Drilling is looking for a Quality Inspector to work at our Applied Technologies Center in Paso Robles, CA . Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide. Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world. Home to where others vacation, including 200 wineries, fresh air, miles of beautiful beaches, and small-town appeal. Our Quality Inspector position will be working in our Manufacturing department. The Quality Inspector is expected to perform the essential duties listed below. Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States. Responsibilities: Perform detailed inspections of electronic assemblies and components, identifying defects such as broken leads, solder irregularities, coating imperfections, and physical damage. Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and provide feedback on engineering draft components. Verify hardware components against assembly and parts lists. Document inspection results accurately and approve or reject items based on compliance with specifications. Ensure proper operation and calibration of measurement and testing equipment. Adhere to and promote company safety and quality standards. Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications & Skills Experience : 3-5 years in quality inspection within an electronics manufacturing environment (). Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of quality control principles, assembly drawings, wire lists, and measurement instruments. Certifications: IPC-J-STD-001 training and experience with ISO-9001:2015 standards (). Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, PowerPoint). Attention to Detail: Highly organized with the ability to multitask and ensure accuracy in documentation and inspections. Strong Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with teams and clearly document inspection results. Location, Physical Requirements and PPE Manufacturing: Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry 25 lbs. and under, perceive depth, and operate motor equipment. Conditions include working inside. Working around moving objects, machines with moving parts. Working around radiant and electrical energy. Work with heated soldering iron and flux. Working closely with others, working alone, working extended or irregular hours. Working environment may include but not limited to, intermittent noise, fumes, smoke, grease, dust, oils and solvents. Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, hand tools, power tools, air tools, microscope and telephone. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, reinforced toed shoes, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
