Our century-long legacy is built on a deep commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and unwavering customer satisfaction. These principles drive everything we do as we continue to grow and expand our global market presence.
Opportunity We are seeking a
Mechanical Engineering Lead
to provide hands-on technical leadership and guide customers in refining their product designs for manufacturability, performance, and cost efficiency. This role partners closely with our experienced applications engineering team and global manufacturing sites to translate customer designs into robust, production-ready solutions and ensure smooth transitions from prototype through full-rate manufacturing.
The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical design skills, practical manufacturing insight, and the ability to work collaboratively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve complex engineering and quality challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Customer-Facing Engineering Support:
Collaborate directly with customers to understand design intent, performance requirements, and manufacturing constraints. Provide technical feedback to improve design robustness, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. Support quotation and proposal development with feasibility assessments and design recommendations. Design Refinement & Optimization:
Review and refine customer-supplied designs to ensure compatibility with internal manufacturing capabilities and quality standards. Recommend material, tolerance, or design changes that simplify assembly, improve yield, or enhance durability. Work closely with domestic and international manufacturing factories from early prototyping through mass production. Collaborate with factory engineers to validate tooling, optimize assembly processes, and ensure product performance meets specifications. Support process development, first-article inspections, and production readiness reviews. Lead or participate in root-cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve quality issues and production nonconformances. Technical Leadership & Collaboration:
Serve as a primary technical interface between customers, applications engineers, and manufacturing teams. Lead design and manufacturing reviews, coordinating inputs across mechanical, electrical, and process disciplines. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers on best practices in mechanical design and DFM/DFA principles. Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing:
Capture and formalize lessons learned, standard practices, and design guidelines to strengthen organizational knowledge. Support continuous improvement initiatives in design documentation, process control, and quality assurance. Stay current with materials, manufacturing technologies, and industry best practices to drive innovation in design-for-manufacture. Travel
